Martha Stewart’s American Made 2014 contest finalists have been named and Kentucky is well represented. Congratulations to Grateful GrahamsBourbon Barrel Foods,  Copper & Kings, Rooibee Red Tea, Art Eatables Small-Batch Bourbon Truffles, and Trifecta Sauce Company who have all been named finalists in the national contest.

After selling two yearlings for over a million dollars each at the Keeneland September Yearling sale, Bobby Flay thinks Lexington, too, might be a good spot for a restaurant. Meanwhile, Insider Louisville ties Flay to a Brown-Forman redevelopment in Louisville.

Anthony Bourdain, host of the excellent Parts Unknown on CNN, was roaming around Lexington on Wednesday with confirmed sightings at Shakespeare & Co. and Loudon Square Buffet. I have not found any explanation of what he was up to. He did forget to call me to let me know he would be in town.

Crave Lexington Food & Music Festival is this Saturday and Sunday, September 13-14.

Lexington mobile food vendor Lyles BBQ Company has a Kickstarter campaign to buy a food truck. Check out their promotional video and support the worthy project.
